Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

As an AWS Cloud DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for leading cloud infrastructure design and management, driving cloud migration efforts, and supporting development teams to enhance software delivery. Your leadership will help ensure that our AWS environments are secure, scalable, and optimized, while fostering a strong collaboration between infrastructure and development teams to improve cloud workflows, automation, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure in AWS
  • Drive cloud migration initiatives, including lift-and-shift, re-architecting, and hybrid cloud approaches, ensuring seamless transitions to AWS with cost, performance, and security optimizations through best practices and automation
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline the software delivery pipeline, promoting automation, CI/CD, and best practices for infrastructure management
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, ensuring consistency across environments
  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions for infrastructure and applications, ensuring proactive issue resolution and minimal downtime
  • Take a proactive approach to engineering by identifying and addressing security, operational, or process risks and working with teams to implement effective solutions
  • Support development teams by providing tools and frameworks that enhance the deployment, testing, and scaling of applications in the cloud
  • Oversee the management and orchestration of containerized environments using Kubernetes (EKS) and other AWS-native tools, ensuring efficient scaling and high availability
  • Actively mentor and coach cross-functional teams, promoting best practices, conducting technical reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning
Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles, with a focus on AWS
  • Strong experience in cloud infrastructure design and management, including AWS services
  • Proven expertise in cloud migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions and resource optimization
  • Solid knowledge of automation practices, with a focus on infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and deployment automation
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast and reliable software delivery
  • Strong familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, Nomad, Docker) in AWS environments
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog) to ensure proactive performance tracking, issue resolution, and system health optimization
  • Proactive mindset for identifying and addressing security, operational, and process risks
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash, as well as automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CDK
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide technical teams and promote a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
