Database Administrator - SQL Server & CI/CD

We are seeking a Database Administrator with a focus on SQL Server and CI/CD to join our Database Engineering team.

The work involves applying scientific, mathematical, and social principles to design, build, and maintain scalable and sustainable technology products. As a Database Administrator, you will combine your passion, skills, knowledge, and ideas to provide cost-effective database solutions for our customers' and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SQL Server databases from development to production systems
  • Manage and deploy databases in the cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-premises
  • Update and use automation tools to patch and deploy new databases and upgrade existing ones
  • Modify code in Self-Service tools that enable development teams to manage simple database operations and configurations
  • Define and use CI/CD pipeline configurations and deployment automation tools. Example: Gitlab and Gitlab runners
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure performance, availability, and security
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing evidence-based problem resolutions at the database level
  • Assist development teams with query tuning and schema refinements
  • Maintain stability and security by applying Quarterly Patches and upgrades
  • Support and troubleshoot database backups
  • Provide capacity planning of system resources to support database growth
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
  • Document and share domain and technical expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent training and experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting MS SQL Server databases in a production environment
  • Proficiency in native SQL Server database monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with SQL Server backups, restores, and recovery models
  • Competency in Windows Server required
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options available for SQL Server. Example: Availability Groups
  • PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting skills
  • Good teamwork, decision-making, documentation, and analytical skills
  • Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
