The ideal candidate will oversee a group of Java developers, concentrating on advancing our primary product engine utilized by commercial valuers and real estate brokers. As a seasoned developer with Java expertise and related technologies, you will be instrumental in crafting and upholding products pivotal to our users, free from the red tape often found in large organizations.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentoring to Java developers, offering support and specialized knowledge
- Manage the daily operations of the development team, ensuring timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards
- Promote a team environment that values collaboration and continuous enhancement of skills
- Partner with project managers, product owners, and other key stakeholders to establish project scope, goals, and expected outcomes
- Develop comprehensive project plans and oversee the development process from start to finish
- Enforce best practices, coding standards, and organizational policies throughout the software development lifecycle
- Take charge of designing and building robust, scalable, and maintainable Java applications and services
- Work with architects and other teams to ensure technical solutions are in line with business needs
- Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and maintain adherence to software development best practices
- Enable effective communication within the development team and across departments, aligning everyone with common objectives
- Report on project advancements, team performance, and potential challenges to stakeholders
- Serve as the primary contact for technical issues and offer solutions to complex challenges

- 7+ years of Java development experience showcasing strong object-oriented programming knowledge
- A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or team management role in software development
- Background in back-end development
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Python
- Understanding of database architecture and SQL with prior work with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Competency in utilizing version control systems and deploying CI/CD pipelines
- Exceptional leadership abilities that promote motivation and engagement within a team
- Strong abilities in verbal and written communication, capable of explaining complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
