We are in need of a dynamic Chief HPC Engineer to manage and direct all crucial operations and engineering activities in the DaVinci HPC environment.
The selected candidate will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to uphold the stability, efficiency, and GxP compliance of the HPC infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of 3 HPC infrastructure engineers
• Organize, break down, and assign technical tasks across the team
• Develop HPC strategy in partnership with the Novartis internal team and external parties
• Deliver guidance and maintain expertise to uphold GxP-compliant HPC infrastructure
• Document HPC infrastructure according to GxP standards
• Engage in engineering and support tasks

• 7+ or more years in designing and configuring HPC infrastructure
• 2+ years of significant leadership experience in relevant fields
• Expertise in managing interactions with Linux (any rpm based)
• Proficiency in job schedulers including IBM LSF and Slurm
• Capability to work with Bright Cluster Manager including its installation and configuration
• Familiarity with GPFS/Lustre filesystems essential
• Insight in handling InfiniBand/OmniPath network interconnect

• Background in managing hardware diagnostics, enhancements, and tuning particularly with HCA InfiniBand and disk arrays like Lustre, Vast, IBM, and servers from Dell and HP
• Competency in infrastructure monitoring with systems such as Zabbix, Splunk, and Grafana
• Qualifications linked to the use of Easybuild tools
• History of working within a GxP compliant framework
• Understanding of Jira and ServiceNow
