EPAM is looking for a Bioinformatics Senior R Engineer (Clinical Data Scientist) to join our team and contribute to data-driven projects by effectively using R programming.
In this role, you will lead the engineering of advanced analytic tools, execute database analyses and contribute to scientific publications. If you're passionate about improving healthcare through technology - we'd love to have you on board.

Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and documentation of standardized analytic tools that will be executed against a network of observational data
- Guide the execution of observational database analyses using standardized analytical tools and writing statistical packages
- Provide technical support for the data and analysis infrastructure and scientific support
- Participate in the writing of protocols and statistical analysis plans, methods engineering, the conduct of simulation studies and statistical/mathematical modeling studies
- Drive and collaborate on engineering complex phenotypes using advanced analytic approaches (i.e., Machine Learning, incorporating unstructured data sources using NLP, etc.)
- Assist with the dissemination of scientific information through technical reports and publications in peer-reviewed literature
- Manage the development of novel analytic tools and techniques

- Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience in Information Technology and Software Engineering
- Advanced knowledge of a subset of analytical approaches, ex. Machine Learning, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, visual analytics (at least three years of experience in Data Science)
- Understanding of SQL and R (at least two years of experience)
- Skills in Healthcare or Pharma (at least one year)
- Ability to multi-task and handle numerous complex projects at a time
- Enthusiastic, goal-oriented and team player mindset with a passion for improving the quality of healthcare
- English level - B2, both oral and written
- Graduate degree (MS, PhD, etc.) in Biostatistics/Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science or similar, plus two years experience in observational research
- Experience in designing and conducting healthcare studies and in the development and applications of advanced analytics solutions
- Knowledge of core principles of epidemiology and biostatistics
- Understanding of using OHDSI tools and analytical methods
