EPAM is looking for an innovative Algorithmic Optimization Developer to enhance our client's Cloud Infrastructure by optimizing its utilization and reliability. In this role, you will lead advancements within a global, industry-scale cloud infrastructure, driving meaningful innovations that impact real-world data centers.

We are expanding our research and innovation team to future-proof our automation framework in response to the growing demands of cloud offerings. Our team is focused on modernizing system architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability, utilizing cutting-edge virtualization technologies (e.g., containerization, Kubernetes).
This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, a well-equipped office in Tbilisi or coworking spaces in Batumi and Kutaisi.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement novel mathematical optimization solutions for large-scale, complex challenges in data centers
  • Collaborate in transforming SAP's system architecture for improved scalability and performance
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies to help future-proof SAP's cloud infrastructure
  • Evolve with new skills and embrace opportunities to expand into new technical areas
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (specializing in nonlinear optimization preferred). A dissertation in placement optimization of data center entities is highly advantageous
  • Expertise in programming languages: C/C++, Matlab, Python, R
  • Proficiency in Mixed Integer (Nonlinear) Programming and optimization solvers like Gurobi
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have
  • Experience solving complex engineering or scientific problems, with a focus on parallel computing
