Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer (Engineer 2) on the Production support team, you will be responsible for directly assisting the business and users with any production issues ranging from data and code fixes to monitoring logs and ensuring the application is up and running. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and can work well within a team with other engineers.
In this role on the Risk Management department, you will use your skills of problem solving, verbal and written communication, and being detail-oriented to assist in coming up with short term solutions to get the business unstuck and identify long term coding, data, and monitoring solutions to improve the applications and user experience. To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience troubleshooting applications with complex architecture behind it - front end, back-end, database, chained API calls and batch jobs. Our tech stack includes Java, SQL databases, JavaScript, and Angular. Additionality, familiarity with ticket management systems like Jira and Service-Now is a plus.

Qualifications
Required:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
- Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
- 3+ years of object-oriented software development and/or maintenance on websites that have complex architecture (front end, back-end, database, chained API calls and batch jobs)
- 3+ years of experience of working with SQL/Oracle databases
- 3+ years of experience working with source control (Git preferred)
- Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to various levels of management and with people with varying technical knowledge, and to be able seek help when "stuck" with an issue and/or a problem for an hour or more
- Must be able to work well within a team
- Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic
- Must be flexible and resilient in the face of changing priorities and requirements
- Must have strong problem-solving skills
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience with JIRA.
- Experience with Request-It.
- Experience with Jenkins or similar continuous integration tools.
- Experience with AWS - EC2, SQS, S3, etc.
