Responsibilities

The Vehicle Solutions team is responsible for developing technology solutions that support global business operations and span the full vehicle life cycle including acquisition, onboarding, maintaining/repairing, selling vehicles and APIs that support rental and vehicle operations. As a member of the Vehicle Solutions team, you will have an opportunity to work across several different product areas and collaborate with other teams, as well as suppliers and manufacturers.

As an IT Manager of the Vehicle Solutions Team, you will lead the software development team leveraging iterative development approach. You will be responsible for leading and facilitating planning sessions, estimation sessions, demos, retrospectives, and project management. In this role, you will work closely with managers, other development team members and Product Management to build the product vision, product themes, release plans, and iteration plans. You will be responsible for leading projects and IT efforts both within and outside the immediate team. You'll collaborate with and communicate development/change efforts with other Enterprise Mobility teams.

In this role, you will need to be able to manage talent effectively and lead others in the same, including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, coaching, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews. You will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions with adherence to IT policies and architectural standards. You will initiate, build and maintain strong relationships across IT and other Corporate business areas. Participation in the development of processes and procedures for all enterprise class distributed technology will be expected, while being required to protect proprietary and sensitive information in a confidential manner. Supporting the health of the solution area is also required from either working through production issues, technology upgrades or assisting in prioritizing technical debt.

The position may include coordination of restoration of service activities related to outages and require being on an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in managing an application development team(s)
  • Must have ability to effectively lead teams in executing on and pivoting between multiple simultaneous high-priority efforts
  • Must be able to identify gaps and/or barriers to success, and articulate those findings to leadership
  • Must be able to effectively manage problems and conflicts as they occur
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and/or a similar tool
  • Excellent at building and maintaining relationships across and outside of IT
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a professional attitude, a strong desire and ability to take ownership, ability to provide high quality customer service, and a willingness to expend extra effort to achieve optimal results
  • Must be detail oriented with strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate periodic after-hours and weekend response to incidents when necessary

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
