Job Title/High Level Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will work with a high performing product development team to extend our current product offering with innovative hardware solutions. This role will be specifically focused on developing hardware solutions aimed as part of embedded systems for therapeutic laser, shockwave or electro-therapy devices. It will also manage the local lab in our Dallas

office and the related equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, various generators and meters, etc.) with the support of local Sr Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and verify microcontroller-based hardware (mixed digital/analog design) for medical devices dedicated to professional (Chattanooga, Lightforce), consumer (Compex) or veterinarian (Companion) markets
  • Develop, implement and verify power supplies and output stages to drive various loads (resistive, capacitive, inductive, non-linear) in the hundreds watts power range
  • Manage PCB and PCBA prototypes manufacturing; Able to assemble SMD electronic components on a board and to perform measurements with adapted tools
  • Assist Senior Engineers for the conception of new system architectures
  • Contribute to new product development project success in a multidisciplinary, international team
  • Demonstrate an understanding of design control requirements for medical devices, contribute to the elaboration and maintenance of the related technical documentation and navigate the product development process to release successful products to the market
  • Work for innovative, cost effective and reliable solutions
  • Support existing products maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal (quality, regulatory, supply, etc.) and external partners (EMC/safety labs, manufacturers, design partners, suppliers

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor diploma in electrical engineering
  • Optional: Master diploma in the same field of application; any education degree related to medical industry
  • Highly skilled in analog and digital electronic design activities (simulation, calculations, schematics, PCB layout, EMC testing and certification, verification and validation) with track records
  • Motivated by the challenge to start a design from the beginning with no predecessor
  • 2 to 3 years industrial experience in embedded solutions, preferably in the Medical Device Industry or another highly regulated environment
  • Experience in Altium Designer to design circuit boards (schematics, layout, BOM, gerber file generation)

Additional beneficial skills:

  • Experience in battery powered designs with limited resources (battery, processor power, space and costs

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken), French or Spanish is a plus
  • Motivation and interest to work in the highly regulated medical devices world
  • Focused, goal oriented and well organized
  • Strong team spirit and ability to evolve in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work under strong timing pressure; manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
