Store Design Manager - Estée Lauder Companies Middle East.
We have a new opportunity in our Retail & Commercial team for an experienced Store Design Manager in our Retail & Commercial Team.
This role owns the Store Design & Project Management process in the affiliate for their respective brands and coordinates and executes all openings and rebuilds in close collaboration with Brand, Commercial, VM, Logistics & EMEA teams.

§ 8 + years' experience in technical/design aspects of retail design.
§ Knowledge of scheduling or construction management software.
§ Experience in graphics, layout and interior signage; has an understanding of traffic flow and human scale.
§ Experience in luxury and cosmetics/ beauty industry.
§ Business acumen and strong budget understanding

About The Role (Key Responsibilities).
Managing Contracts/Projects
• Lead the planning and implementation of store design from pre-design until the execution.
• Consults with Brand & Commercial teams to ensure best locations within stores; analyze traffic flow to guarantee customer interaction; analyzes architectural features that may enhance or distract from location; inspects sites to ensure cohesive design and speeds approval process.
• Produce and integrate projects schedules across stakeholders processes.
• Lead collaborative working with key business stakeholders throughout the project including liaising with Regional Design Managers to ensure detail quality and consistency in all points of sale for all brands.
• Communicates with regional design groups on store appearance; informs all parties involved of any updates and/or revisions to standard details.
• Translating fixture and retail design ideas through various skills (drawing/sketching, ideation, materials, and textures) while understanding the context, insight, and design realities at retail.
• Establish a project plan from inception to completion taking into account all relevant statutory and retailers requirements.
• Sets realistic expectations to avoid project delays & manages project blocks within the appropriate forum.
• Monitor and control projects process including establishing targets with respect to project delivery; monitor and report on progress against these targets.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects including management and delivery of project milestones.
• Effectively manage and maintain appropriate budget cost achieving targets.
• Manage the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money.
• Estimating and budgeting costs by understanding costs types and life cycle costing.
• Identification and mapping of stakeholder process according to different brands & communication management.
• Carry out contract administration including financial management, liaising with external consultants where it is required.
• Produce the Contract Program, short term programs, and built programs and monitor / report progress as required.
• Resolve technical problems ensuring work is carried out to the correct specification and QA standards.
• Sets and communicates high workplace operating standards, values and expectations.
• Maintain project close out and archival procedures, including final project photography, understandable records of all stores for future use by Brand Managers and Finance.
• Maintain an updated Estate library
• Ensure all store opening data is updated and filed on a regular basis
• Ensures that a pool of suppliers & freelancers who are trained in ELC are in place for peak periods as a contingency
• Sets and communicates high workplace operating standards, values and expectations.
• Maintain project flow and circulate status reports to the relevant department
• Make site surveys and create CAD documents of footprints for design manager as required
Strategy, insights and solutions
• Leads execution of strategic portfolio plan.
• Provides functional expertise and executes functional responsibilities
• Manages and drives design projects from ideas/concepts through to prototypes, implementation of trials and standardization.
• Leads execution of strategic portfolio plan. Reviews fit out expirations and develops plan for new stores, renewals, relocations, expansions and closures.
• Guides analyses on impact of renovation cycles, initiatives rollout, and store expansions, closures and relocations
• Determines how financial objectives such as sales and profit will be achieved through proactive management of the portfolio, design functionality, value engineering and timeline management.
• Ensures the creative development of brand enhancing in-store visual that elevate storytelling, brand messaging, premium product presentation and drive sell-thru while enhancing the consumer experience for all openings.
• Work with cross-functional teams to push projects forward, driving recommendations through to implementation.
• Build high performing teams by providing the right team with the right skills.
• Monitor progress and performance through accountability, managing stakeholders, following processes and communicate information to all key stakeholders & regional team members.
• Applies understanding of commercial and marketing needs to day-to-day activities.
Visual Merchandising
• Ensure Brand's image is consistent and properly expressed and maintained within guidelines set by NY office in order to achieve a cumulative and synergistic effect in terms of architecture, detailing merchandise layouts within all openings.
• Coordinate with Visual Merchandising for all openings.
• Responsible for the animation for the brands in conjunction of the brands for all openings.
Financial
• Manages capital and non-capital annual budget for the brands, provides timely provision or adjustment to the budget if appropriate.
• Manages invoicing, timelines/schedules, prototypes, design reviews and approvals.
• Ensure ROIC improvement of the additional capital through minimizing the cost of the installations versus the sales delivered.
• Performs other duties as directed in line with role and corporate strategy
