Principle Objectives:
To guide key projects within the global packaging design team and oversee full process, from concept to execution of primary and secondary packaging, premium gifting, and launch kits. Our ideal candidate has a passion for design in all its forms, impeccable taste, a keen eye for design, and is tapped into current trend within the luxury space. They have a compelling skill set, including an extraordinary sense of aesthetics, concept development abilities, and a strong sense of form, proportion, color, and typography. Must have an excellent understanding of the best production techniques to maintain quality and consistency.
This role is for an extremely detail oriented, organized, and creative person who can handle multiple jobs in a fast paced and demanding work environment. Advanced skill level in the following applications is a must: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. High-level skills in 3D modeling (Rhino, Solidworks) and rendering software (Keyshot) a valued advantage.

Responsibilities:
• Actively demonstrate excellence in design vision, execution, and taste level.
• Lead complete design projects of high complexity from inception through completion.
• Visualize concepts and ideas through vivid mood boards, sketches, renderings, Photoshop comps, etc.
• Collaborate with design team on all packaging programs, including new product launches within Fragrance and Cosmetics categories, promotional programs, in-store collateral, and gifting programs.
• Responsible for proper set up, execution, and final release of 2D design direction files, with detailed dimensioning and specifications, as well as any 3D design intent files.
• Grow, manage, and help mentor a diverse team of designers.
• Work cross-functionally with corporate packaging partners, artwork managers, creative operations team, design. team, editorial and legal teams to ensure package execution is expressed correctly in physical execution as well as all campaign/online assets.
• Oversee and review drawings and proofs from vendors.
• Work with packaging design team to establish and maintain brand packaging strategy, guidelines, and standards.
• Work with corporate proofing software for reviewing and approving all production artwork.
• Work efficiently with Packaging Coordinator and comp houses to supply specs and artwork for product comps.
• Work with Packaging Development team in reviewing component submissions for quality, design intent, and color/finish accuracy.
• Bonus experience making actual cut and folded paper comps.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial design, package design, graphic design, or related field required.
• Highly organized, timely ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Challenges standard practices and applies new and different ways of thinking as necessary.
• Strong knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes, finishes, materials, and printing techniques.
• Strong organization skills for file management and archiving.
• Astute sense of color for review and approval of samples/proofs.
• Strong ability to provide context and think strategically about the packaging language and ecosystem as a whole.
• Creates and sustains environment of trust and collaboration.
• Actively builds relationships across disciplines and with external partners.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to speak to creative vision and execution as well as tactical conversations across disciplines.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and design shifts.
• Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) Microsoft office.
• Precise and detailed 3D modeling/rendering ability (Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot) a major plus.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,500 to $135,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
