We seek an experienced Account Manager who eats, sleeps and breathes our business and helps advance the firm with their brainpower. They will be a highly engaged liaison between the business' rational marketing objectives/messages and the creative translations of those into work that works.
The Sr. Business Leader/Account Manager will be responsible for seizing market opportunities, growing the health of our client relationships, and overseeing the efficient and effective development of our projects - and our visions. The EJ Agency is an in-house, full-service agency which delivers creative and strategic advertising, marketing communications, event, and content solutions to the firm in support of clients, communities, and colleagues. Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key business area accounts assigned, understanding their objectives and translating them into actionable strategies and agency briefs. Provide consultative, proactive partnership and build trusting relationships between client business partners and EJ Agency team. Provide marketing recommendations and strategies, with supporting rationale. Regularly communicate with business partner accounts to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns. Develop a proficiency in the business areas assigned (products/services, markets/audiences, competitive landscape).
- Marketing Strategy: Confidently develop, present, and execute marketing strategies in line with business partner client objectives, audience insights, and in consideration of firm priorities, working closely with them to ensure their needs and goals are met. Help connect dots across projects and identify strategic opportunities. Leverage and help the firm and agency build integrated plans across channels when possible.
- Inter-Agency Collaboration: Represent business partner client needs and goals in the agency workflow, partnering with your Department Leader, Project Managers, Creative, Production, Studio, and other agency stakeholders. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects and campaigns across various channels to meet project objectives.
- Agency Reputation Management: Develop a mastery of the capabilities and service offerings of the EJ Agency. Educate business partner clients on the capabilities and service offerings the internal agency provides, building confidence in the team's ability to partner effectively in support of the business. Earn trust delivering today's projects while planning for tomorrows.
- Edward Jones Brand Stewardship: Deeply understand brand positioning, key messages, brand standards and growth plans of Edward Jones to advocate for stronger, more consistent marketing initiatives and campaigns for the firm. Build relationships with EJ Brand Team to effectively deliver and contribute to firm and brand goals.
- Budget Management: Monitor campaign /project budgets and resource plans effectively and in collaboration with Project Management, to optimize firm investments to achieve the best results.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all marketing materials and campaigns meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in communications, creative, digital, advertising or marketing, with a background in client leadership, at an advertising or marketing agency
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field; Masters Degree or MBA is a plus.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful integrated marketing strategies.
- Strong emotional intelligence/maturity.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Intellectually curious.
- Results-oriented leader who can develop and convey program strategies, and simultaneously deliver solutions through practical, disciplined execution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, overseeing multiple active projects of varying scopes, concurrently.
- Experience in Adobe Workfront a plus. Other tools used include: Microsoft Office, Zoom.
- Client-focused mindset, consultative approach to projects, and strong relationship-building skills are required.
- Financial services industry and/or other regulated industry experience is preferred.
- Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday (subject to change, dependent on latest firm direction).
