About the Team
Solution Engineers work across entire product teams, which could include anywhere from 2 to 8 or more engineering teams. Each team is comprised of several software engineers along with quality engineers, site reliability engineers, and user experience professionals. Solution Engineers will work with product managers, scrum masters, developers, etc. within a matrixed Product Team to determine which challenges would benefit from their focus the most. As an individual contributor, Solutins Engineers influence how our most challenging technical problems are solved.

What You'll Do

• Solution Engineers will be tasked with solving/executing on the most difficult challenges our firm faces from a technical perspective. Your ability to determine what information is needed, attain it, and then analyze complex systems will be used regularly. You will also need to be able to explain these findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solution Engineers have autonomy over how the most difficult challenges are overcome and then implement those approaches. While our Product leaders are responsible for determining what we need to do and why, our technical teams must determine how to go about delivering on those goals. Solution Engineers are a vital part of the product teams because they model best practice and ensure that teams maintain a focus on design thinking, DevOps and SRE principles while implementing cost-effective, scalable, reliable solutions.
• As a Solution Engineer (SE) you will work in and across multiple teams, helping your colleagues overcome the most difficult engineering challenges they face. Solutions Engineer spend most of their time with hands on keys working on the most challenging problems especially proving feasibility and patterns. You will help your teams design tests to validate assumptions and tradeoffs of different solution options. You will mentor senior engineers, teaching them skills that will in turn help them mentor others more effectively. Solution Engineers are advanced, technical experts of in leading development projects of significant scope and scale, requiring deep solution knowledge and confidence within the engineering space.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $113810
Hiring Maximum: $193785

Skills/Requirements

What Expereince You'll Need :
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems preferred or related work experience.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in a variety of technical fields including software and infrastructure engineering is required. This experience gives a deep understanding of the full stack required to deliver and operate software.
• Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple large and complex efforts or projects.
• Knowledge in visualization tools such as Starburst
• Possessing broad experience in designing, implementing, and managing both relational and non-relational data stores on-prem and in the cloud. This includes PaaS and SaaS/DBaaS deployments
• A deep understanding of operating critical & enterprise hardened production systems. A strong understanding of Observability to reduce toil and improve MTTR during incidents.
• Fluent in multiple programming languages and development stacks. Knowledgeable of multiple systems to design more resilient and maintainable solutions.
• Expert in test automation with demonstrated mastery of code level unit and integration tests. Responsibility includes mastery over various strategies of how to test complex and distributed systems through automation.
• Technical Documentation and Diagramming skills and use of tools not limited to draw.io/Visio/Confluence/Lucidchart
• DevOps - IAC knowledge is a must (Terraform, Jenkins, shell scripting, ARM, etc.)
• Experience in both software development and system administration
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Java, Python, Ruby) and one configuration management tool (Puppet, Chef)
• Understanding of the DevOps tools and technologies, such automation tools, testing tools, etc.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• A highly effective mentor
• Experience with distributed caching, event-driven and streaming frameworks preferred.
• Experienced in designing, building, and documenting highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run in a cloud and hybrid cloud environment such as Azure

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
