Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

As a Canada-U.S. cross border subject matter expert and a champion of a human-centered approach to wealth management on the Client Consultation Group, you will develop tailored, goals-based wealth planning considerations using a multi-disciplinary team approach for complex High Net Worth client situations. You bring experience in both Canadian and U.S. tax laws with the ability to help clients navigate various considerations and planning opportunities. You also potentially have knowledge in one or more of the following areas - advanced financial planning, insurance planning, business ownership, advanced tax planning, succession planning, or estate planning.

You will take an integrated and holistic approach to planning by collaborating with other internal subject matter experts and the client's external professional advisors (i.e. protection, legal , tax and other advisors), utilize all planning tools available in order to assist clients with their complex planning needs in order to achieve their goals.

You will work in collaboration with other experts on division-wide objectives, projects and initiatives, and training designed to enhance capability to better serve branch teams and clients with complex needs. You are comfortable with public speaking, client presentations and writing articles within your area of expertise. You are dedicated to continuous growth, creating impact, and creating a place of belonging. You will have responsibility for knowledge about and interpretation of rules and potential or upcoming regulatory/legislative changes in relevant area(s) of your specific subject matter expertise.

If you prefer an in-office work experience, you will need to be in the GTA.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate.

Hiring Minimum: $113000
Hiring Maximum: $192400

Skills/Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelors degree preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Accredited financial planning designation (CFP, Pl.Fin-IQPF applicable for Quebec) considered an asset or willing to begin within 24 months
  • Other courses such as In-Depth Tax Course would be considered a plus for this position
  • U.S. CPA credential would be considered a plus for this position
  • Advanced degree such as CPA required for this role

Desired:

  • Life insurance knowledge would be an asset
  • Advanced tax planning would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process including: retirement planning, cash flow planning, investment planning, tax planning, estate planning and protection planning
  • Strong presentation and communication skills especially including the ability to present complex financial strategies in a professional manner that is easily understood
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting and financial planning software tools.
  • The ability to work well within a team environment.

  • a minimum of 8+ years industry experience
