This team sits within the Wealth Management Advice and Solutions (WMAS) division. WMAS Purpose: We innovate, develop, evolve, and manage integrated advice, planning, products, and services (APPS), leveraging deep understanding of client and branch team needs. We enable branch teams to deliver unparalleled value for our clients and communities through wealth management offerings and experiences, from discovery to planning and implementation, supported by thought leadership and expert services.
Wealth Management Consultation is an area within WMAS that serves as the planning and investment portfolio advice consultation group to support the delivery of financial planning services and implementation of the Edward Jones planning and investment solutions. We serve as a resource that our branch teams can utilize to implement wealth management Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS). We partner with WMAS stakeholders to deliver formalized, advanced, and personalized advice from subject matter experts, with a particular focus on implementation of planning, portfolio construction, advice, and guidance. We provide our branch teams with a holistic view of planning and portfolio management across their business, including analytics and visualizations, while helping them deliver the comprehensive wealth management services that our clients desire.
The Edward Jones Wealth Management Consultation High Net Worth team provides an end-to-end, high-net-worth (HNW) client experience (Clients with $10 million or more) by partnering with our branch teams to provide ongoing client services including holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning services via trusted 3rd parties, plan implementation via expanding sets of Edward Jones products and services, and ongoing reporting and support. Senior Estate Strategists leverage the extensive resources of our home office and external 3rd party partnerships to serve High Net Worth clients with complex needs in the following ways:
- Serve as an estate planning expert in partnership with the lead planner and financial advisor to uncover, understand, and articulate client estate and legacy goals
- Partner with various internal stakeholders and service providers, such as the Edward Jones Trust Company, to bring forward holistic strategies and solutions to meet client goals
- Leverage relationships with, and provide oversight to, external 3rd party service providers, such as estate planning law firms, to bring estate planning strategies to implementation
- Leverage the firm's full suite of financial planning tools to help clients define their financial goals, identify estate planning opportunities, and monitor progress to keep clients on-track to meet their goals
- Ability to review High Net Worth client estate planning documents and identify opportunities to implement strategies that better align to client goals related to estate planning
- Expected to translate complex planning strategies in a way that clients can understand (both verbal and written) including education and trade-offs for each proposed strategy
What You Will Do:
- Support lead planner and partner with home office and third-party experts to support financial advisors and deliver the high-quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required to meet our HNW client's wealth management and estate planning needs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for complex cases requiring deep technical knowledge and extensive estate planning expertise. Need to demonstrate ability to understand how upcoming changes in legislation and regulatory environment may impact High Net Worth estate/legacy planning and proposed client strategies. Support the implementation of estate planning strategies and recommendations.
- Communicate at an appropriate technical level with financial advisors, High Net Worth team, and clients to gain understanding of client's needs, aid in documenting client goals, articulate estate planning strategies and recommendations, identify expertise needed to help the client achieve their goals, and build relationships with clients and financial advisors.
- Serve as a conduit to a third-party estate planning and legal advice service providers to implement estate planning strategies for clients. Setting expectations with estate planning/legal service provider, client, financial advisor, and High Net Worth team to deliver timely advice and customized client deliverables. Connect client's financial plan to their estate and legacy goals. Clearly articulate services to be rendered to 3rd party service providers. Need to ensure that 3rd party advice aligns to EDJ advice and guidance.
- Facilitate the timely delivery and execution of estate planning advice between the third-party service provider and High Net Worth team.
- Lead or actively contribute to key strategic initiatives/projects within and across Wealth Management Advice & Solutions (WMAS) division supporting our High Net Worth strategy and team, in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders, that enable the firm's evolution to deliver ongoing financial planning and asset management services.
- Work in partnership with Edward Jones internal stakeholder groups (Edward Jones Trust Co, Compliance, Legal, Service, Operations, Home Office Portfolio Strategist, etc.) to ensure proper alignment and continued evolution in partnership with the HNW business segment and APPS strategies.
- Help shape and inform High Net Worth client facing advice and guidance related to complex estate planning as well as provide input on future products and services needed to meet client needs.

What Experience You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Law required
- Advanced degree (such as JD) required
- Series 7 and 66 required within 6 months of hire
- Insurance license required 6 months of hire
- CFP® preferred or obtained in accordance with firm policy
- 11+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
- Direct client service experience as a member of a HNW client-facing professional team required
- Understanding of Financial Advisor and Branch Team Support Member(s) processes including the implementation of Core Wealth, Banking, and Financial Planning offerings
- Ability to interpret and leverage firm advice and guidance to support the branch in creating a tailored solution for each client

- Deep expertise in complex estate planning strategies including but not limited to Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, sales to Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Generational Skipping Tax Transfer (GSTT), generational gift planning, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, etc. Should be able to understand and explain these strategies as well as identify when a strategy is appropriate to discuss with a client and ensures alignment to their financial plan and goals. Should also be familiar with implementation of these strategies for High Net Worth clients
- Ability to review High Net Worth client estate planning documents (i.e. trusts, wills, power of attorney, medical/healthcare directives, gift/estate tax returns, prenuptial agreements, divorce decree, business agreements, etc.) and identify opportunities to implement strategies that better align to client goals related to estate and legacy planning
- Need to demonstrate ability to understand and interpret how upcoming changes in legislation and regulatory environment may impact HNW estate/legacy planning and proposed client strategies. Support the implementation of estate planning strategies and recommendations
