Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

Edward Jones is seeking a highly skilled leader to serve as a Senior Director within a newly created Strategic Advisory team. This individual will be a senior leader of a small, nimble team with deep industry expertise. The Senior Director will work as a strategic advisor with the most senior levels of Edward Jones, including Enterprise and business segment leaders to help advise and evaluate strategies for high-impact enterprise undertakings and growth initiatives. Support to these efforts include leading decision-making exercises and strategy workshops with leaders and enablers, developing options and recommendations, and conducting scenario analysis. Leaders serving in this role will require strong influencing skills and independently make decisions in highly complex and ambiguous situations.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and manage strategic engagements, via advisory pods, through the entire value lifecycle.
  • Provide consultative advice and support to the most senior leaders of the firm to help achieve multi-year aspirations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to advance goals aligned with enterprise objectives, which will require deep subject matter expertise across multiple domains of wealth management, and high-risk decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations, including the development of hypotheses, gathering data, analyzing results, and presenting findings to executive audiences.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the internal client's business objectives and challenges and lead the development of tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high impact and value creation.
  • Lead and facilitate strategic exercises and various strategy workshops with stakeholders across the firm.
  • Assess the connection between Enterprise objectives and business segment and functional strategies by Senior Leaders
  • Track industry and competitive trends, and develops business outlook and forecasts where appropriate.
  • Build industry relationships and participates in external conferences.
  • Cultivate a broad network of internal and external relationships to enhance effectiveness and influence.

Hiring Minimum: $202200
Hiring Maximum: $344200

Skills/Requirements

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree is required with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Advanced Degree(s) or Certification(s) in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Analytics is preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience, with a preference for analytical and/or core strategy work within Wealth Management. Management consulting experience is preferred
  • Depth of knowledge of principles and practices in 2+ specific fields of specialization (ex. Advice channels, Service models, Capabilities and Technologies).
  • Sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at the highest levels of client organizations; excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities.
  • Seasoned leader with strong entrepreneurial drive, who thrives on intellectual challenge and raises the bar in terms of client service delivery.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as the position will be responsible for significant thought leadership.
  • Experience contributing to high-impact strategy assignments.
  • Record of accomplishment of influencing, developing, and delivering strategy in midsize to large complex organizations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial openness and ability to explore new possibilities and to approach issues differently; a visionary; intellectually agile.
