Position Schedule: Full-Time

Edward Jones is seeking a highly skilled individual to serve as a managed-investments Analyst or Senior Analyst in its Product Review department. This person is responsible for analyzing and approving mutual funds, retirement products and other investment products sold by Edward Jones. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in a related field, has experience analyzing mutual funds, retirement products and/or other managed investment products, and has obtained their CFA designation.

Product Review helps clients achieve their goals by ensuring the firm's offerings are aligned with clients' interests and our investment philosophy. Analysts as well as Senior Analyst in Product Review independently evaluate a broad array of proposed and currently available investments and services in order to determine whether they can, or continue to, be appropriate for a client's goals. This requires a high degree of independent judgement and discretion in order to protect our clients and the firm. Analysts and Senior Analysts collaborate with internal stakeholders to correctly position the offerings and educate financial advisors and clients as appropriate. Analysts and Senior Analysts are expected to have strong critical thinking skills, a track record of success executing established analytical processes, a broad understanding of the financial industry, and an intellectual curiosity to further develop their subject matter expertise.

What you'll do..

  • Independently review and monitor investments for alignment with the Edward Jones investment philosophy and our clients' interests.
  • Act as subject matter expert providing analysis and recommendations on a specific set of products or services.
  • Conducting the initial analysis and sustained monitoring of various managed investment products, potentially including mutual funds, ETFs, private market alternatives, retirement and college-savings plans, and unit investment trusts sold by Edward Jones in the United States and Canada.
  • Preparing recommendations associated with managed investment product approvals and effectively communicating conclusions with product leaders, vendors, and internal clients at all levels.
  • Working in collaboration with other Product Review analysts or Senior Analysts to support the department's overall objectives.
  • Actively build relationships with stakeholders and branch teams in order to better understand client needs and cultivate mutual trust.
  • Regularly assess workflow prioritization with leaders and stakeholders in order to maximize the impact of decisions and deliver the right results.

Skills/Requirements

What you'll need...

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
  • CFA designation required
  • 3-5+ years' experience analyzing mutual funds or other managed investments
  • Industry experience required.
  • Experience with financial accounting, securities analysis (equity and fixed income)
  • Experience with alternative investments, such as private equity, credit and real estate, is preferred.
  • Clear understanding of the firm's investment philosophy, advice & guidance, firm values, and our clients.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling utilizing spreadsheets, data tools, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Morningstar)
  • Knowledge of economic, statistical, and investment concepts.
  • Expertise in financial research including procurement and synthesis of financial information from multiple industry sources to reach decisions.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate-level skills using Microsoft Excel and Word

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
