Job Overview

Position Schedule: Home Office

In 2022, Edward Jones invested $ 1 billion in technology infrastructure, digital initiatives, and virtual business enablement tools. We're currently in the test-and-learn phase and are looking for talented, motivated professionals, that want to be part of this transformational journey. As a team member, you will contribute to our financial advisor and branch experiences. You will support key strategic initiatives for our North American Operations, working with key stakeholders across our Branch and Service divisions.

What You'll Do...

  • Considered a subject matter expert in an I.S. discipline (business solutions, systems development, infrastructure area, planning, security) and have experience across multiple platforms in an area or multiple technologies in a layer (network, computing, operating systems, data, application infrastructure, appliances, business solutions, security, systems management)
  • Actively mentor and train other associates in their area of expertise.
  • Provide direction as to the effective use of technology within the enterprise architecture.
  • Participate in the team's on-call support rotation.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle Models as well as expert knowledge of Agile, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration
  • Work in an agile delivery team to break down stories and deliver functionality in sprints.
  • Provide leadership related to technical aspects of tools, methodologies, best practices and processes and standards that apply to their technical area of expertise.
  • Knowledgeable in globalization (g11n), particularly with respect to technology design and deployment for a multi-national firm.

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program. What You'll Need...

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in open Systems development skills such as Java, JEE, JSP, Spring, Spring Boot (Microservices), Rest Services, Spring JPA, REST, Kafka, JSON, JUnit, Reactjs, Node.js, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Azure, JavaScript, LINUX, REACT, HTML, and XML.
  • Ability to develop system designs within area of expertise.
  • Ability to perform analysis of system requirements to determine feasibility, costs, benefits.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide strategic direction and technical leadership to align objectives with the overall Firm strategy.
  • Able to create a strong team environment and build technical skills through training and mentoring of others.
  • Ability to influence Team Leaders, Project Leaders and/or associates in a matrix organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships across departments, business areas, and vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple large and complex efforts or projects.
  • Knowledge of brokerage or financial company processes.

"Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday."
