Within WMAS, the Advice & Guidance group can be viewed as the "investment engine", encompassing asset allocation, portfolio construction and optimization, manager research, securities research, and other investment-related functions. The Investment Risk Group partners closely with investment teams in Advice & Guidance on portfolio construction, optimization, and investment risk oversight for our Advisory model portfolios, discretionary client accounts, Bridge Builder mutual funds, sub-adviser funds, Asset Allocation models, and other investment processes. As an Investment Risk Analyst, you will be called upon to leverage your industry, analytical, and communications skills to provide risk oversight for portfolio construction, optimization design, and risk monitoring for Advisory models, mutual funds, SMAs, and client accounts.

Responsibility Summary:
- Support active research and portfolio construction analysis to align Advisory multi-asset class models, Bridge Builder funds, asset allocation models, and SMA equity portfolios to investment objectives and investment risk framework.
- Assist investment risk managers to oversee portfolio construction and risk monitoring for Advisory multi-asset class model portfolios, Bridge Builder mutual funds, strategic and tactical asset allocation models, and SMA equity portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives and risk framework.
- Support research and enhance risk framework and portfolio optimization configuration for post optimization review to ensure alignment of advisory client accounts to investment objectives and risk parameters.
- Monitoring and support derivative risk management program for Bridge Builder mutual funds and sub advisers in accordance with SEC 18f-4 Rule.
- Responsible for data analysis, production, and enhancements to investment and optimization risk dashboards and reports.
- Support active derivative risk research and oversight for Advisory research models, Bridge Builder mutual funds and sub advisers, and client accounts as needed.
- Collaborate with investment risk managers to prepare and present portfolio construction research and risk recommendations to leadership for approval.
- Collaborate and contribute to internal departments, committees, and firm-wide strategic initiatives in making better informed decisions consistent with the firm's long-term strategy.
- Deliver effective written and verbal communication of portfolio risk analysis and recommendation to investment team members and stakeholders as needed.
Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative subjects. Graduate degree in quantitative discipline or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in portfolio construction, portfolio optimization, or investment risk management, or 3 to 5 years' experience in investment management preferred.
- Demonstrated strong interest in investment risk, portfolio optimization and portfolio construction.
- Achieved or actively pursuing FRM and/or CFA designation(s).
- Series 7/66 required or attainable within six months of hire.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, programming, and investment risk platforms (Microsoft Office, R, Python, Tableau, FactSet, Aladdin Risk, MSCI BarraOne, Axioma, Bloomberg, etc.)
- Minimum Years of Experience Required
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in portfolio construction, portfolio optimization, or investment risk management, or 3 to 5 years' experience in investment management preferred.
