Responsibilities are anchored in Brand Strategy, Brand Content, and Brand Governance.
More specifically:

  1. Strategic Consultation: Lead firm-level initiatives by providing expert consultation and oversight, evaluating business strategies, and making independent, strategic decisions to achieve objectives.
  1. Brand and Content Strategy Leadership: Direct the development and execution of comprehensive brand strategies, including applying audience segmentation insights, leveraging brand architecture, and executing long-term content planning.
  1. Measurement Framework: Establish brand metric benchmarks at national and market levels; develop strategies to leverage brand strengths and opportunities.
  1. Omni-Channel Direction: Guide the development and implementation of sophisticated national integrated advertising campaigns to differentiate our brand and drive business outcomes.
  1. Enterprise Brand Content Strategy: Develop and oversee a unique brand point-of-view and innovative creative ideas for enterprise content across all stakeholder groups.
  1. Campaign Development: Lead the creation and execution of content marketing campaigns that support an $80M+ media buy and drive desired business results.
  1. Business Influence: Communicate strategic opportunities and recommendations to senior leaders, negotiating solutions that maintain brand integrity and drive business growth.
  1. External Partner Leadership: Manage relationships with external agencies to ensure alignment with brand objectives and maximize ROI, overseeing a $6M+ annual budget.
  1. Test & Learn: Drive innovation through test-and-learn methodologies, continually optimizing campaign performance and identifying new opportunities.
  1. Team Growth: Foster the growth and development of brand strategy and content teams, shaping the team's focus and responsibilities to meet firm objectives.
  1. Budget Management: Monitor program and project budgets and resource plans effectively and in collaboration with Project Management, to optimize firm investments to achieve the best results.
  1. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all marketing materials and campaigns meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.


Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program. Knowledge Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of brand strategy and content strategy.
  • Experience in launching new brands and enhancing existing brands; experience with $10B+ brands preferred.
  • Expertise in increasing brand equity and driving revenue through strategic initiatives.

  • Preferred experience: Customer Acquisition, Competitive Intelligence, Customer Engagement, Product Marketing, Recruitment Marketing, Design Thinking.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement impactful solutions with broad scope, influencing senior-level decision-making.
  • Creativity: Inspire innovative approaches to brand initiatives, resulting in high-quality outcomes.
  • Complex Decision-Making: Make non-routine, complex decisions impacting the enterprise, with significant influence over the brand's success.
  • Problem-Solving: Solve complex problems and gain consensus at all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility: Adapt plans and resolve competing priorities across the firm to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Integrated Communications, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, insights, creative, and digital, with a strong background in brand leadership in a collaborative team setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful integrated marketing strategies.
  • Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Intellectually curious.
  • Results-oriented leader with ability to develop and communicate big-picture vision and strategy, and simultaneously deliver solutions through practical, disciplined execution.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, overseeing multiple active projects of varying scopes, concurrently.

Span of Influence:
The Director of Brand and Content Strategy is directly responsible for decision-making and influencing decisions related to the work of the eleven-person brand team and the many projects that flow through it each year.
