Our Finance and Administration department delivers efficient and effective operations and processes that are foundational to EcoVadis’ ability to drive continuous improvement in companies’ sustainable business practices at scale. 

We are seeking a Collection Associate to join the Finance team in Barcelona.

This position is responsible for work activities related to the collection and recovery of customer receivables and debt. Responsible for ensuring that cash collection activities meet the requirements of the client by reducing debt aging, maximizing cash collection, and collecting high quality dispute information, while maintaining a professional relationship with the clients.

Core responsibilities:

  • Maintain and engage with a portfolio of aging receivables accounts via phone and emails to recover all past due accounts.

  • Research disputed accounts as needed to determine the cause and validity of the delinquency.

  • Take appropriate action to resolve and/or identify significant collection issues and escalate appropriately.

  • Capture accurate, detailed notes of discussions and arrangements with debtors and send follow up information as requested/required.

  • Meet collection targets and ensure agreed Service Levels are met or exceeded.

  • Promptly respond to customer queries via email, phone, and other channels where required.

  • Obtain and share customer feedback with colleagues and other departments so that products and services can be improved.

  • Attend workshops and meetings as required.

  • Respect client confidentiality at all times.

  • Collaborate with EcoVadis internal stakeholders to resolve any collection queries efficiently and effectively. 

  • Work with the Managers to resolve any conflicts that may arise within the team.

  • Liaise with international colleagues from all departments regularly to assist and add value to the EcoVadis global mission.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English is a must. Additional languages will be a plus.

  • Degree in a Business, Management or Finance related discipline would be preferred, but applicants with other backgrounds will be considered.

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience of working in billing and collection is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and telephone).

  • Good understanding of accounting principles.

  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office tools.
