Position Profile:

As the Vice President of Utility Sales for the West you will lead the activities of the region toward achieving sales, profit and growth goals while continually improving quality and customer service levels. You will be responsible for strategic management of regional sales resources to achieve sales/orders, market share, price, product mix, and financial metrics established by product and operating divisions and sales leadership. You will have the opportunity to define and implement comprehensive sales initiatives & programs supporting the organization and its key stakeholders. As a senior leader on the commercial team, you will drive collaboration across the utility segment and the entire Eaton portfolio.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a talented team of sales managers/specialists ensuring professional development and retention with the region.
  • Develop the strategy to identify and develop prospective customers, keep current on trends, direct the strategic planning process, and ensure region excels in customer relationship management and service delivery.
  • Work with customer and channel partners within the region while maintaining relationships with the key decision makers.
  • Review monthly forecasts with accuracy to ensure the region meets monthly goals.
  • Oversees sales quotas, cost control, and turn of backlog and projects.
  • Champion Talent within the team, through recruitment, assessment, training & development, goal setting, communication, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain budgetary responsibility for the territory.
  • Advise senior management of customer and competitive developments that impact sales growth/profitability and recommend strategies and options to counteract market pressures.
  • Partner with product divisions to implement strategies focused on the geographic, customer, industry, and market needs.
  • 50% plane travel

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required (Masters Preferred)
  • Minimum 12 years of sales or marketing leadership experience, with direct people management in a similar scope/scale role.
  • Experience in the electrical utility industry or similar market
  • Proven success leading teams in both a direct and distributor/channel partner model
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales, profit, and growth goals,
  • Prior P&L experience preferred
  • Previous experience with talent selection, recruitment, and conflict resolution

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $158,653.89 -$232,692.37
