Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welding Technician (Night Shift). The hourly rate for this position is $21.40 + .40 Shift Differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
- Ability to read blueprints and shop orders. Responsible for safety, quality, production quotas, and all documentation associated with product movement and confirmations.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead position.
- Set-up and troubleshoot welding equipment.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MIG welding process.
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Layout, position, align and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers.
- Weld separately or in combination using aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.
- Mark or tag material with proper identification as required
- Remove excess weld, slag, spatter and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, had files or scrapers
- Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools
- Fill holes and increase the size of metal parts
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan layout, assembly and welding operations

- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Pinckneyville, IL will be considered. (Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).
