We are looking for a Welding Engineer to be joining our team in the Transformer Business Unit.
Role overview:
In this role, you will be a skilled professional, responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of welding processes within the manufacturing environment. Your expertise revolves around various welding equipment, materials, techniques, and quality control standards.
You will employ your knowledge of metallurgy, welding, materials, physics, engineering, and standards for examining, designing, and evaluating welds.
In the role, you will plan, supervise, and document welding operations using relevant codes, drawings, or contracts.
Main responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and improve welding production systems for various transformer types, including substation transformers, current transformers, and medium-voltage transformers.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
- Supervise welding teams and manage welding projects.
- Examine, design, and evaluate welds using relevant codes and standards.
- Document welding operations and maintain quality control.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize transformer designs, considering factors such as core steels, winding conductors, and cooling options.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welding Engineer or in a similar role.
- Relevant Welding Coursework Program,Certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng), and others by the American Welding Society (AWS) or the International Institute of Welding (IIW).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- English language skills are required.
