The hourly rate for this position is $24.61 per hour.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

In the Tester role, you will complete electrical tests on assemblies and components to ensure conformance with required specifications and performance characteristics as well as diagnose and correct very difficult circuitry in assemblies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• You will perform all essential functions of the grade 40, plus:
• You will provide guidance to and assist and train less experience technicians in all aspects of mechanical or electrical design and operations. You will also recommend technical methods or approaches for these technicians to increase their overall quality, timeliness, and productivity.
• You will provide guidance to assist in the training of external customers in all aspects of maintenance and troubleshooting, including recommending technical methods or approaches to such customers in order to increase overall quality, timeliness, and productivity.
• You will take a lead role in outlining, estimating time requirements, scheduling the workload, and following to completion engineering tasks and special projects as assigned by the department manager.
• You will provide technical assistance to our customers, sales, and EESS relative to complex product design/operation, electrical schematics, diagrams, sketches, one-lines, etc. as well as engineering interpretations of a specific general order or customer design.
• You will maintain constant contact and a good working relationship with manufacturing personnel to ensure continuous training and product understanding as a critical part of their everyday job.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in electronic engineering technology, Mechatronics Technology OR an equivalent degree
• At min 1 year in a SG40 Tester - I
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position (with exception of internal candidates currently assigned to one of our Greenwood, SC sites).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• At least 1 year of experience using hand and air tools.
• At least 1 year of electrical drafting

POSITION CRITERIA:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment. Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs. Utilize various hand tools to assemble and verify quality in a Lean environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is also required to push/pull up to or greater than 100 pounds occasionally with assistance. The employee may be required to use material handling equipment, including powered industrial vehicles, to move product and supplies. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
