Eaton's CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking a Test Technician I. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship prodcuts related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilties, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. The Test Technician I role offers a 40-hour paid work week with hours being 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. WIth full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Test Technician I will perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on single phase and three phase medium voltage UPS systems.

In this role:

  • Read electronic schematics to ensure products meet defined specifications
  • Report any Non-conformance items by utilizing our Quality Management Guidelines
  • Recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost effectiveness
  • Communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues
  • Check maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards
  • Identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment
  • Use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work areas

Qualifications:

Basic (Required):

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in electronics with testing and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic Test Measurement Devices
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographic area (50 mile radius) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations; electrical and electronic devices
  • Two years post-secondary education with an Associate's Degree in electronics from an accredited school
  • Manufacturing systems knowledge (KANBAN, JIT, Production scheduling)
  • Experience with DC battery currents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs
  • Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or electronic schematics
  • Ability to completely test and troubleshoot electronic products
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
