Job Summary

We are looking for System Architect - EDI in Eaton's corporate IT team based in Pune, India.
With a mission to drive enterprise digitization across the eCommerce & Channel Management Value Stream Organization, Eaton is currently seeking an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) System Architect to help defining and communicating a shared architectural vision for an EDI product that enables us to support current and future business needs.

As part of the IT Revenue Generating Value Chain, the EDI function is central to Eaton's digital transformation and every contribution we make has a significant impact on the future of the company. Our goal - as a product-centric, results driven organization, is to deliver world-class service and support to our global B2B EDI customers. Primary Function

Brief primary function of your role:

This position is responsible for defining and communicating a shared architectural vision for a simple product that enables them to support current and future business needs.

They will collaborate with Agile teams to consider solutions, validate technology assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and converge on a solution.

FInally, the System Architect will work closely with Enterprise , Solution Architects, Functional Analyst's to deliver solutions that are aligned to the broader architecture guardrails.

Essential responsibilities:

• Demonstrate ability in EDI technical design with ability to identify multiple alternatives to develop and then suggest the best approach considering the situation/need.
• Drive and lead the reduced complexity in the current EDI Landscape - through identifying opportunities for decommissioning, consolidation of components, applications, integration technologies and data.
• Lead and participate in the planning, definition, development, and high-level design of EDI product solutions and architectural alternatives.
• Enable a continuous delivery pipeline through proper design guidelines.
• Participate in solution planning, incremental planning, product demos, and inspect and adapt events.
• Plan and develop the architectural runway for a product that supports desired business outcomes.
• Provide technical oversight and encourage security, quality, and automation.
• Effectively negotiate with the business to ensure nonfunctional work (e.g. patching, platform upgrade etc.) is properly prioritized and worked on to reduce the accumulation of technical debt over time.
• Evaluate and analyze customer/supplier EDI business requirements, arrange communication setup, develop SI (Sterling Integrator) maps as necessary to implement mutually agreeable EDI solutions as required by different Eaton groups.
• Coordinate and support daily EDI operations.
• Collaborate, build, and maintain relationships with other technical groups. Initiate continuous improvement initiatives within the team and Enterprise.
Application Administration Support for EDI B2B Architecture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as: B.E / BTech / MCA / Equivalent or B.Sc
  • 8 to 12 years of Sterling B2B Integrator experience

Skills:

Must Have Skills :
• Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering with respect to EDI - Sterling B2B Integrator
• Experience with Linux operating systems, programming languages and their associated development platforms
• Experience developing enterprise grade, highly scalable, highly performant applications and/or distributed systems
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps, CI, and CD principles from code check-in through to deployment
• B2B Integrator (Maps, BPML, Services/Adapters, Administration, Tuning, Troubleshooting.
• Knowledge on concept of Cloud hosting in any of the cloud platforms - AWS, GCP, Azure
• Strong knowledge on communication protocols - HTTPS, SFTP, FTP/S, AS2
• Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply technology knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.

Nice to Have Skills -
EDI Integration knowledge with Oracle/SAP
Knowledge of other B2B platforms like - Dell Boomi
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain and present technical concepts
- Comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work colaboratively on a technical team
- Patience and empathy when working with developers and testers
- Experience working with diverse, global cultures, organizations and teams
