Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Strategic Projects Tendering Engineer. You will work closely with and support the strategic account sales organization, coordinating with a network of internal and, as needed, external suppliers to build winning tenders for projects. This ensures Eaton can execute at target profitability. Utilizing your strong electrical knowledge, you will become an expert in design considerations for key electrical packages for power distribution, backup power, and other bespoke applications ranging from Low Voltage (LV) to Medium Voltage (MV) requirements, such as data centers.

What you'll do:
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of product offerings and their applications in end-use scenarios (e.g., data centers, industry)
- Customer Engagement: Engage with targeted customer engineering teams and consultants
- Sales Collaboration: Work with the sales team to understand customer business challenges and effectively sell technical concepts
- Matrix Environment: Collaborate with peers in Sales, Business Units, Projects, and other relevant organizations
- Tender Development: Build clear tenders and ensure alignment with key stakeholders on price points and selling strategies
- Presentation Skills: Present to technical audiences, whether informally on a whiteboard or in formal settings
- Sales Process Engagement: Participate in the sales process, including opportunity qualification, design influence, technical response coordination, and quotation provision
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with peers in relevant business units, Lifecycle Support, and Product Engineering
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers during the design considerations phase and primarily during tendering
- Evaluate bids for go/no-go decisions, build technical and commercial offers, and ensure alignment through tender reviews between sales and execution owners (e.g., Business Units, Service teams)
- Provide quotations for sales to present to customers.
- Follow up on tenders with presentations to customers and make refinements as needed during the tender phase
- Assist in formal project handovers to execution teams, detailing agreements and managing known or possible risks
- Provide consultation during project execution to clarify or support design considerations
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- 5+ years of Electrical engineering experience, preferably with knowledge of power distribution and backup power
Skills:
- Team player with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- Data center experience is a plus
- Automation experience is a plus
