What you'll do:

Responsible for managing personnel & processes related to material receipt, storage of goods, kitting, delivery to point of use, movement between cells. Ensure company inventory accuracy targets and material handling KPI's are achieved. Support the programme of material handling and stores consolidation as required.

  • Supervise and lead a material handling team to achieve site goals.
  • Management of the receiving of goods into the business meeting the 24hr turn around time targets.
  • Ensuring timely put away of goods into stock
  • Ensure material movement transactions adhere to traceability requirements and ERP rules.
  • Reduction of materials handling across the business & improve material flow between areas.
  • Ensure protection of goods at all times, including during transportation across the site.
  • Deploy resource to cover holiday/unplanned absence as business priorities require.
  • Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed correctly to receive and issue materials as required.
  • Support stores activities in line with business requirements.
  • Maintain 5S principles within areas of responsibility and ensure activities do not contravene metal to metal directive.
  • Support in deployment of Lean processes to enable improvements in replenishment processes from Suppliers or to Customers.
  • Evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations etc.

Qualifications:

  • Vocational qualification in Logistics/Stores area desirable.

Skills:

Management of Chemical Store to include the following:

  • Conduct weekly 5S audits in the area
  • Ensure Area Risk Assessment is complete and up to date
  • Ensure receiving, labelling and storage of chemicals comply with MESH and country specific requirements.
  • Control inventory levels and any out of date stock is disposed of correctly
  • Actively participate in EHS Training as and when required
  • Ensure MSDS's are readily accessible
  • Ensure housekeeping requirements are followed


  • Management of Hazardous Store to include the following:
  • Conduct weekly 5S audits in the area.
  • Ensure Area Risk Assessment is complete and up to date.
  • Actively participate in EHS Training as and when required.
  • Ensure housekeeping requirements are followed.
  • Ensure waste is stored, labelled and disposed of correctly.
