Job Summary
This position is responsible for driving improvements in efficiency, quality & safety in manufacturing operations through the deployment of appropriate Industry 4.0 tools & technologies such as: augmented reality, factory simulation, statistical process control, real time OEE monitoring, traceability, digital work instructions, additive manufacturing, data analytics, autonomous mobile robots (AMR's), etc.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead major projects to deploy Industry 4.0 tools & technologies into manufacturing operations.
• Manage Industrial and Operational networks (OT) and interface with IT network to provide data for process control and monitoring.

• Experience extracting data from PLC's and usage of OPC, SQL and Kepware servers for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) interface.
• Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities.
• Work as liaison to divisional i4.0 team to align technologies to be implemented and follow up approved protocols.
• Align Industry 4.0 project objectives to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on strategic value streams.
• Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
• Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives.
• Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert.
• Work closely with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Information Technology (IT), Manufacturing Engineers, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities.
• Provide cost benefit analysis for capital projects.
• Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and i4.0 projects and manage capital expenditure.
• Develop continuous improvement ideas to improve the safety, quality and productivity. Analyze the process to actively reduce current standard times.
• Safety responsibilities include safety and housekeeping objectives; follow all safety rules and procedures and report unsafe conditions to line management.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.
• Contribute to the deployment of robust manufacturing processes that assure high quality products.
• Contribute to the accreditation of the plant under the ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Fluent in English on professional/business level.
• Minimum of five years in manufacturing engineering.
• Five years experience in OT networks, PLC's interface, industrial networks, OPC & SQL for MES interface.
• Experience working with Kepware servers.
• Experience in automation and PLC programming.
• Experience with AMR's, robots and cobots. Fanuc robots knowledge.
• Experience in metal stamping, painting and assembly process is desired.
Technical knowledge
• Experience in IT & OT infrastructure requirements for systems integration.
• Experience extracting data from PLC's and usage of OPC, SQL and Kepware servers for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) interface.
• Experience with MES software (DMM and Ignition is a plus).
• Familiarity with control cabinets and industrial networks topology.
• Ability to interact and program PLC's (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).
• Expertise in machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management.
• Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure.
• Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics.
• Experience with Fanuc robots.
• Knowledge of vision systems (Keyence, Cognex, etc.).
• Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), experience with InfinityQS is a plus.
• Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems), Automated Logic is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders, etc.).
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (desired).
• Layouts and machinery drawings interpretation.
• Proficient in MS Office toolset including advanced Excel capabilities
• Proficient with computer and software tools.
