Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineering Manager. This role will be based at our Eaton Americas Innovation Center (EAIC) in Brossard, Quebec. This role offers hybrid work opportunities, as well as benefits from day one. Candidates must reside within 80km of Brossard, Québec.

The primary function of the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineering Manager is to establish a Software Quality Assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and positively affects the financial performance for the Power Systems Division (PSD). Responsibilities include ensuring the quality, stability, and robustness of the utilities products within the PRD solutions portfolio.

The successful candidate will have a deep technical knowledge of software development and testing and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position requires a hands-on Software QA manager with
proven leadership, management, and team-building skills while developing and fostering partnerships with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Lead Enterprise and Embedded Software Quality Teams: Drive the strategic and operational direction of geographically diverse teams, ensuring alignment with our Agile, proactive quality, and test automation principles.
- Team Building: Build, mentor, and lead Software Quality professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in quality assurance practices.
- Expertise in QA Methodologies: Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, including automated testing and the 'shift-left' approach.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve Software Quality processes, tools, and methodologies to drive better quality outcomes and align with industry best practices.
- Develop and Implement Automated Testing Frameworks: Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive automated testing frameworks to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in identifying and addressing defects early in the development process
- Integrate Quality Assurance Practices: Work closely with development, product, and operations teams to champion the integration of quality assurance early and consistently throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting a 'shift-left' testing approach.
- Agile: Support product development utilizing the Scrum principles of commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage.
- Relationships: Build and manage key relationships, interpret information from multiple sources, and communicate effectively to various audiences.
- Adaptability: Adapt to changes, gain followship, and quickly respond to adjusting priorities based on evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications (Must have):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years' experience in SQA with demonstrated results in software testing disciplines in an Agile software environment, including, black box, white box, end-to-end system, automated test platforms and integration or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of people management with a proven record of accomplishment in building and growing strong teams
- Minimum 5 years of experience delivering high-quality software products and services for external end users.
- Professional fluency in French and English. English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues located inside and outside of Quebec and provide leadership across global teams.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
- No relocation is being provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of the Brossard, QC office,
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have):
- Master's degree
- Experience with test automation tools for Desktop, Web applications, or Web services (e.g. Selenium, Test Complete, SOAPUI, Postman)
- Experience working in the electric utility market and/or power system knowledge.
- 8+ years of experience shipping high-quality software products and services.
- Experience in performance, stress and other non-functional testing.
- Experience deploying multiple OS, browser, and database versions using VMs.
