Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Software Product Owner Specialist. This position offers a HYBRID work schedule at either our Peachtree City,(Atlanta) GA or Moon Twp (Pittsburgh) PA location.

As a Software Product Owner Specialist, you will be responsible creating and prioritizing software requirements, maintaining backlogs, and defining acceptance criteria for various software products. You will work closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner to understand the vision of the products, and will work closely with the dev teams to ensure that the vision is properly executed. The ideal candidate will need to have both domain expertise and market understanding as well as the technical knowledge to help guide the team in execution. You will work directly with technical leads to help refine the requirements and shape the development effort. You will also work closely with developers, designers, architects, project managers, and marketing team members to find innovative solutions that balance technical requirements, user needs, and business objectives. You will be working on various software products that include mobile apps, web apps, API's, and others.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $112500.0 - $165000.0 a year.

What you'll do:

In this role:

  • Work directly with stakeholders and software teams to deliver high quality solutions
  • Understand and evaluate business needs and requirements in order to provide innovative, competitive solutions which provide value to the stakeholders
  • Work and thrive in an agile environment
  • Work with product owners and technical leads to execute product vision and define requirements
  • Define and track release plans, feature prioritization, and high-level project milestones
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain a backlog of user stories throughout the product lifecycle
  • Understand and triage tasks and issues and prioritize according to criticality
  • Collect, understand, and represent voice of customer to drive design decisions
  • Work closely with dev teams to ensure understanding of requirements
  • Define acceptance criteria and ensure that the developed product and technical execution meets those standards
  • Work closely with user research and UI/UX design teams to ensure designs are ready for dev team and satisfy requirements
  • Evaluate and understand any technical challenges or blockers to make quick decisions if the team needs to pivot
  • For technical products (such as B2B API's), have a strong understanding of technical design and execution
  • Work directly with customers where appropriate to ensure success and that product meets their requirements

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of software development or management experience either as a developer, analyst, product owner or similar role• 5+ years of software development, technical project management, product owner or similar role
  • No relocation is being offered. Only candidates currently residing TODAY within a 50-mile radius of the following Eaton locations: Peachtree GA or Moon Twp. (Pittsburgh) PA. will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the consumer energy and smart home domain
  • Experience with consumer IoT software products including mobile apps and B2B API's

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain and convey technical concepts
  • Experience making solid product decisions on projects given project constraints and best practices
  • Familiarity with agile design, technical, and product management practices and tools
  • Strong ability to drive for results and take initiative even when requirements may be vague or undefined
  • Experience with human-centered design process and practices, design thinking, and user research concepts
  • Able to navigate complex decision making
  • Experience with various agile and backlog management tools such as Atlassian/Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Trello or similar
  • Effective at building trust and relationships with stakeholders and project team members
  • Experience working directly with customers and partners to drive mutual success
  • Self-starter with time management and prioritization skills across short-term and long-term time horizons
  • Extensive experience and proven record utilizing software best practices and adapting to emerging technology trends and methodologies"
