Shipping and Receiving Associate

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate. The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $26.25 per hour.

What you'll do:

  • Perform receiving functions on all inbound freight, including verification and data entry (SAP,Excel)
  • Load and unload trucks while working safely with delivery drivers
  • Load daily stock transfer on Dry Van trailer and Flatbed trailers
  • Build manifest for the daily stock transfers.
  • Build manifest for material going to an outside process with tracking
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies in a timely manner
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance check
  • Responsible for adherence to receiving procedures
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any discrepancies or damages found during receiving process
  • Accept constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
  • Timely and accurate distribution of product to designated location
  • Enters data into computer software system and mark and label material once verified
  • Maintains housekeeping to keep work areas clean, safe and hazard-free
  • Other Receiving duties as assigned to maintain an efficient workflow throughout the facility
  • Adhere to company policies (i.e. Attendance Policy)
  • Cross-trainable in Shipping and Receiving
  • Assist shipping department to pull pick and pack orders.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be forklift certified
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP Knowledge
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Working knowledge of basic tools and vehicle maintenance a plus

  • Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.
  • Basic math skills for inventory tracking and order verification

Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift
  • Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and procedure
  • Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas)
  • Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity
  • Indoor and outdoor exposure to weather
