What you'll do:
Eaton has an exciting role for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Systems engineer to develop new and upgraded GSE for our Air to Air refuelling (AAR) systems. This role will be within the Aftermarket Engineering team for Air to Air refuelling where you will be working within a multidisciplinary team to implement new designs and modifications to the existing GSE. For this position, you will be responsible for technical support including the planning and execution of all stages of lifecycle management relating to integration, development, verification and validation in the discipline area. You will convert customer requirements to define, analyse and inform the total system solution. You will also be expected to engage with suppliers and customers to ensure the solution meets expectations.

• To use systems engineering knowledge and processes within a product lifecycle to develop new and modified GSE solutions
• Perform requirements management, validation, systems design, development, integration, verification and qualification as per the company standard processes and customer requirements.
• Fronting customer discussions and leading investigations into reported in-service issues
• Addressing obsolescence issues with existing GSE
• Being responsible for planning the systems engineering tasks and generation of systems engineering management plans
• Converting customer and other stakeholder requirements to define, analyse and inform the total project solution.
• Managing engineering change to ensure system integrity through the life-cycle, and ensuring traceability of all key design decisions.
• Providing support in all areas of the product lifecycle and deliver a totally integrated solution.
• Planning and scheduling engineering design gate reviews, engage with other functions e.g. airworthiness, safety to ensure the project delivery milestones are fully met.
• Coach and develop junior engineers
• Managing technical risks and opportunities that may have a direct / indirect effect on the delivery of the project and system.
• Driving continuous improvement and incorporate effective systems engineering management practices
Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years
Skills:
Aerospace industry knowledge, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Good communicator, team worker, commercial awareness, motivated
