Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL manufacturing facility.

The Quality Engineer - PPAP has overall responsibility for ensuring product compliance and approval requirements are defined, documented, and communicated to internal and external customers. This position will report to the site Quality Manager.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Manages PPAP and IMDS systems, completing all paperwork as required for tracking and timely submittal, and document control including forms and or work instructions and inactivation of part files.
  • Sets and administrates PPAP schedule for Carol Steam PPAP Group in addition to serving as liaison on PPAP inquiries with our Mexico site(s) PPAP Group
  • Communicates professionally with peers and customers regarding PPAP (e.g., incorporation of customer specific requirements, control plans, PFMEAs, MSA, SPC and IMDS) requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinates course of action with Program Management/Engineering on new part / new technology analysis and specification conformance issues.
  • Comply with all company procedures, policies, work instructions, and Eaton EQMS/IATF16949/EMS-14001 requirements.
  • Participate in team activities as required (e.g., audits, Corrective Actions, 5s)
  • Member of New Part Kick-Off team and New Technology Review team
  • Participate in daily tool room GEMBA related activities
  • Manages and maintains sample parts retention library
  • Ensures accuracy and content of PPAP submissions
  • Active participant in APQP phase reviews

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years work experience in Quality Engineering role
  • Minimum three (3) years experience with GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience with IATF/AIAG requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now and in the future.
  • No relocation is available for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL to be considered. Active Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and application of core tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC)
  • Experience with managing and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience with problem solving tools (ex: 8D, 5 WHYs, fish bone )

Skills:

  • Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring equipment and gauges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Email) Minitab & Adobe Acrobat and various software systems for logging and tracking results.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively across functional teams, suppliers and customers is required.
  • Detailed oriented, strong time management and organizational skills, and collaborative mentality.
