Eaton's La Grange facility is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you'll do:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support and expertise in all aspects of Plant Quality Systems functions. They will gather data to identify and eliminate causes of poor processes, scrap, and rework, and recommend process improvements to reduce production delays and lower quality costs. In addition, they will:

  • Create and maintain quality documentation, such as quality manuals, procedures, etc.
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (TS16949/ISO9001).
  • Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators.
  • Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty).
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standard.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system.
  • Support Quality Inspectors and Technicians to ensure that products and processes comply with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Write product test procedures, review and approve changes to drawings, specifications, work instructions, etc. to assure continued compliance.
  • Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
  • Lead corrective action and nonconformance product resolution.
  • Coordinate and oversee audits and ensure timely resolution of action items.
  • Provide training on problem solving methodology and other quality-related topics.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer

Skills:

  • Knowledge on injection molding processes
  • Knowledge of the Quality Core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC)
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies (8D, root cause analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.)
