Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This position is based at our Residential Wiring Devices manufacuturing facility in Lincoln, IL.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The Sr Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control processes, conducting audits, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the Lincoln quality department. You'll be responsible for providing support and quality leadership for supplier quality, processes, and customer quality.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, manages and assists with plant quality issues as they pertain to products and processes, critical processes, divisional quality requirements and reporting, EQS, ISO and related training.
  • Educates and instructs plant personnel in quality assurance procedures, inspection procedures, tools and applications and ensures conformance to procedures through plant audits.
  • Administers and monitor Corrective Action system to ensure accurate documentation of issues, appropriate root cause determination and corrective action taken, and timely closure of issues.
  • Manages and coordinates all internal and third-party process audits as well as Customer specified Quality requirements and audits. Follow up with timely and effective resolution of all audit findings.
  • Establishes controls to measure and track critical plant processes through coordination of plant's Six-Sigma Program.
  • Assess need for new gages; arrange for their purchase or to be build and assure their accuracy by directing their inspection, calibration and use. Oversees calibration process to ensure all required equipment is calibrated to NIST standards.
  • Collects, analyzes and reports monthly on all relevant processes and information for Enterprise Performance Management scorecard.
  • Reviews purchased part rejections for notification to suppliers and resolution of issues through WISPER.
  • Management of ISO programs for plant.
  • Participates in design and process FMEA for new and redesigned products.
  • Coordinates quality department efforts during absence or manager, reviewing all incoming correspondence for necessary actions.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Three (3) years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blueprints, with strong understanding of GD&T
  • Knowledge of any of the following quality and statistical tools such as MSA, Process Capability Studies, Process Control, FMEAs, and Control Plans
  • Currently eligible work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must currently reside with a 50-mile radius of the working location (Lincoln, IL) to be considered; active-duty Military are exempt from the geographical limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, molding, welding, assembly and finishing processes
  • Certification in QMS as an internal Auditor or Lead Auditor
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma application and Lean manufacturing processes
