Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you'll do:

Engage the supply base as an integral part of our business in the drive for zero defects quality performance. Responsible for the management, execution and reporting of Power Delivery & Regulation Division (PDRD) Supplier Quality processes at the plant and division level. Drive and support supplier performance improvement activities with critical and low performing suppliers. This position requires up to 25% travel

In this position you will:

  • Support / Perform the execution of processes and tasks associated with supplier performance improvement.
  • Manage and monitor supplier quality performance through various Eaton applications (DPPM / DMR / PPAP / 3rd Party certification). That includes suppliers of production parts/material, as well as externally provided processes and services.
  • Lead/support process assessments and other supplier performance improvement activities.
  • Participate on monthly focus supplier reviews with plant and regional quality teams (as applicable).
  • Support Plant Quality Operations and New Product Launch Activities
  • Support APQP / Safe Launch activities. (Supplier APQP /PPAP, definition of incoming inspection plans, performance monitoring, etc.)
  • Manage plant MCO process for supplier deliverables. Participate on the supplier change request meetings to ensure voice of quality is represented to determine feasibility of the change and to provide direction on supplier requirements for approval.
  • Participate on the Material Review Board (MRB) as applicable.
  • Maintain / oversight of the supplier quality management systems.
  • Ensure that PDRD supplier quality processes are established, implemented, measured, and maintained within the plants and division.
  • Ensure Eaton supplier quality requirements are known by the supply base.
  • Support plant quality personnel on-boarding process with training on standard supplier quality processes and requirements.
  • Maintain SAP as the main tool for supplier quality rejection management.
  • Manage / Monitor Supplier Performance - SAP / Quality Management Application / Power BI
  • Manage the Defective Material Report process (DMR) .
  • Manage Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and provide final disposition.
  • Drive the focus supplier process - identify, select, oversight improvement, validate - to ensure supplier compliance to Eaton's quality expectations and to prevent future disruptions.
  • Review supplier performance to identify focus improvement activities for the suppliers with least favorable quality performance.
  • Support development of supplier improvement plan and monitor/validate implementation of corrective / improvement actions. Document focus supplier process as required.
  • Direct escalation for suppliers not achieving improvement as planned during the focus supplier process.
  • Support proactive supplier improvement activities. Perform proactive supplier process assessment reviews at identified supplier sites.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum one year of experience within Quality or Manufacturing function (may include internships)
  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of location listed in job description to be considered. Active duty military applicants are excluded from this requirement.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional experience in the Quality field
  • Certified Internal Auditor
  • DMAIC Six Sigma experience
