Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer- System Performance Analysis. This position will be located at our Davenport, IA facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only.
The Davenport facility has approximately 900 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace life support and safety systems components and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
This position is responsible for Mechanical Design and Performance Analysis of Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) systems, from the component level up through the system level. The individual will be part of an integrated product design team on new product development through full life cycle management, preparing and reviewing project related documentation to ensure completeness and quality. Analysis will be applied to the domains of mechanical, hydraulic and fuel systems. Additionally, the individual will be involved in supporting operation and field service teams to troubleshoot and provide solution for legacy products.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you'll do:
• Perform calculations, analyses & simulations for mechanical, hydraulic and fuel systems, at the detailed component level and at the system level.
• Advise the design team on design requirements based on analysis results.
• Develop component and system specifications based on analysis results.
• Define critical to quality characteristics required to meet component level performance.
• Define test plans and procedures to verify models for component or system characteristics.
• Perform functional and performance testing.
• Produce documentation to report analysis and testing results.
• Review architecture solutions and advise on system changes to meets requirements.
• Capable of interpreting specifications and drawings.
• Work closely with suppliers on component and sub-system development.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, Systems or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electro-Mechanical, Control Systems and/or Systems engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an engineer developing component and system performance models.
• Minimum 1 year of experience defining and conducting testing for the purpose of model validation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency. The Company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, Systems or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electro-Mechanical, Control Systems and/or Systems Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience as an engineer developing component and system performance models.
• Design for Six Sigma or Six-Sigma (DMAIC) Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
• Previous experience with MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape.
Skills:
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Creativity, initiative, and self-starter desired.
• Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation.
• Experience with CREO or other parametric CAD tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for engineering design desired.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software.
