Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position is based at our Irvine, CA facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $88837.47 - $135355.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing support to new and existing product development activities, providing support to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.

What you'll do:
- Act as a liaison between Design Engineering and related groups of functions including floor follow-up, set-up reduction, Kaizen events, and supplier interface.
- Maintain responsibility for driving improvement in the reliability, maintainability and cost effectiveness of aerospace components and subcomponents.
- Support new program development and "Design for Manufacturability" reviews.
- Support and champion Pre-MRB and MRB activities from a manufacturing standpoint.
- Interact with Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure "Design for Manufacturability" of new and existing products. Participate in design review process and acts as a liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer.
- Design and implement routers, operation sketches, fixturing, and gages for safe and efficient manufacture, assembly, inspection and test of custom-engineered aerospace hardware.
- Provide support to floor issues with respect to assembly and test areas as well as aftermarket support.
- Assist and lead in root cause and failure analysis as required and develop root cause and corrective actions to resolve issues involving discrepant product or material.
- Promote culture of Continuous Improvement and understand lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customers' expectations.
- Drive short-term and long-term improvements to achieve goals outlined on Value Stream Maps.
- Participate and lead/facilitate Kaizen events and High-Performance Work Team activities (HPWT). Work on set-up reduction, TPM, 5S, and problem-solving activities (including support the Six-Sigma activities).
- Participate in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies as required.
- Evaluate and maintain time standards that produce increased productivity.
- Work continuous improvement projects that support the Six-Sigma methodology.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial technology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum three (3) years engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Irvine, CA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
- Design for manufacturability experience
- Aerospace Manufacturing experience preferred
- Industry 4.0/automation experience preferred
- Operation or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Two or more (2+) years in assembly and testing tooling fabrication.
- Additive manufacturing experience.
- Experience in the use of CAD, Solidworks, Catia, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
