Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

What you'll do:

Authority.
Implement Engineering Changes of products, make a Process improvements, design processes for new products througth PRO-Launch methodology, SAP routings creation and modification, PFMEA's creation and modification, elaborate a requisitions for new tooling, fixtures and equipment, give support on EHS activities, definition and modification of lay out.

Job Summary
Develop, implement and maintain the engineering functions for the facility: industrial engineering, manufacturing, processes and tools, in order to support operations by achieving the goals and manufacturing and quality objectives. Responsibilities include coordinating equipment installations, technical support, process improvements, development of preventive maintenance, and compliance of Environmental and Safety Objectives.

Job Responsibilities
• Demonstrates the application of Engineering Concepts (tools/ principles) and evidence of creative thinking (Lean Manufacturing, Leadership, Advanced Prints, BOM's, Tolerance Stack ups).
• Evaluates and Improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Plans, organizes, and leads projects teams through PROLaunch (Phase-Gate process).
• Demonstrates application of basic projects management tools/principles (Ex.: Action Items, Project Plan, Critical Routes and Team Meetings).
• Process Change implementation.
• Coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
• Confers with manufacturing, marketing, sales and suppliers to develop designs and resolve design and/or production issues.
• Shows tangible evidence of critical problem-solving tools.
• Tooling and equipment procurement, studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
• Lead, facilitate and coordinate manufacturing activities and resources to ensure Quality and on time delivery.
• Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product, poka-yokes and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Comply with Quality System Requirements. PFMEA's, Standard Works, Process Flow Diagram, Visual Aids.
• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
• Update and maintain SAP Manufacturing Routings.
• Replace obsolete tooling and equipment.
• Participate with multidisciplinary teams for Mesh Compliance
• Establish and identify best layout distribution
• Train and inform cell technicians on current process techniques and new manufacturing concepts. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process.
• Define max/min supply of all related items to equipment, such as spare parts and other suppliers.

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, electronic or manufacturing engineering required

Years and area of experience required

  • Min 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the automotive industry

Skills:

Technical knowledge
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge and training in assembly controls, automation, mistake proofing techniques and CNC programming.
• Knoledge of PRO-Launch methodology
• Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams.
• Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD and/or Solid works systems.
• Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic operations)

Soft skills
• Solving Problems and analysis techniques (5's, 8D's, Ishikawa, A3).
• Background or experience in quality basics such as statistical process control, capability studies and gage R&R's.
• English language intemediate level.
• Green Belt (Six Sigma) certification will be considered a plus.
• SAP knowledge focuses on Manufacturing Processes.
• This position requires some travel.
• It requires the use management skills, act as a liaison for associates at all levels.
• Participate and assist in meeting all plant Environmental Health and Safety objectives.
• Establish a timely response for corrective actions to help drive continuous improvement through the Environmental Management Program.
• Develop and implement positive employee relations (Eaton Philosophy) to encourage employee involvement and to create an environment in which employees see no need for third party intervention.
• Proactive & results driven.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and fluency.
• Demonstrated and mature systems integration, planning and execution abilities are essential.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement of preventive maintenance system required
