Eaton's Bussman division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based in our La Grange, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

  • Production Support - Develop safe work methods that result in a high level of quality and work balance, improved efficiency, and waste reduction. Respond to corrective actions. Support goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Flex Productivity. Identify cost reduction opportunities through scrap analysis and technology applications. Develop and test improved fail-safe strategies through part design, 3D printing, and testing.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Improve the reliability and capability of equipment. Champion Lean Manufacturing including A3, Value Stream Mapping, and set up reduction. Conduct time studies and implement solutions for production constraints and line balancing. Participate in capital planning, investigate equipment alternatives, prepare appropriation justifications, implement equipment, and evaluate results
  • Leadership Opportunities - Lead project management of cross-functional teams, such as Safety, Controls, Maintenance, Material Delivery, and Operations for process changes and necessary training.
  • Process Evaluation - Create and update work instructions, process drawings, process alerts, routings, control plans, standard work, and related documents. Review, update, and improve PFMEAs per APQP guidelines, work instructions, and job safety analysis.

The ideal candidate has thorough knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing principles and can simplify complex processes into efficient workflows. Industry 4.0 experience will be beneficial in this role. You possess a strong learning agility and are looking to leverage leadership opportunities with continuous improvement projects. Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum one (1) year automation experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in molding production including: materials, tools, machines, and approaches for different molding technologies, including thermoset compression, thermoset/thermoplastic injection, and transfer molding
  • Previous experience with CNC machining operations, lean tools, blueprint reading, measurement systems, and engineering product management
  • Design experience using Creo, SolidWorks or related CAD system
  • Understanding of PLC logic and controls, such as Siemens and Fanuc
