Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Support Engineer at our site in Nacogdoches TX.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support voltage regulator production at the Nacogdoches facility, focusing primarily on assembly and testing of regulator cores/coils and units. This position will also support other manufacturing functions including fabrication, control build, and testing.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support voltage regulator production at the Nacogdoches facility, focusing primarily on assembly and testing of regulator cores/coils and units. This position will also support other manufacturing functions including fabrication, control build, and testing.

  • Support Naco production by answering technical and product definition data (PDD) questions and resolving build and test questions. Main area of focus will be cores, coils and unit test but position will also provide support to control build and test, unit assembly and fabrication.
  • Attend tier meetings. Act as a liaison between Production and Engineering both in Naco and Badger.
  • Evaluate and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and issue Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to modify PDD.
  • Ensure product is built and tested to Industry, Quality and Engineering design standards.
  • Maintain PDD data such as drawings, bills of materials, and characteristics.
  • Implement design changes in the shop ensuring changes are implemented with minimal issues.
  • Identify Design for Manufacturing (DFM) opportunities and lead several DFM activities/projects.
  • Identify and implement product cost out (VAVE) opportunities.
  • Provide timely, accurate and succinct updates to Waukesha Engineers with all Engineering related activities in Naco.
  • Participate in design reviews of new ratings and other design changes.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering OR related Engineering degree + 1 year electrical experience (Electrical Testing, Coil Winding, Transformer Design, and/or Power Systems)
  • Three (3) years of experience in Engineering.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Nacogdoches, TX.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of power systems, voltage regulator or distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls
  • Experience using/developing design programs for optimization
  • Experience with product design, cost out, and agile methodologies

Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Inventor 2D & 3D modelling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, working in ambiguity, process management
  • Experience with custom engineering design and processes
  • Demonstrated skills in engineering analysis and tool capabilities
  • Ability in creating, loading, and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Familiarity with modeling, detailing and layout drafting techniques is desired
  • Ability to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations
