Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid office (3x2) role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits and sponsorship will be provided within the United States only.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year.

What you'll do:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead product designs, contribute technical expertise to the cross-functional project team, and provide design support for manufacturing and field service. Tasks will be primarily center on the introduction of new products, featuring accelerated project timelines for three-phase UPS products and their accessories.

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the design and development of power electronics UPS and battery systems.
  • Produce electrical designs, create schematics and documentation, and develop conceptual and final designs for Eaton applications, with input from sales, marketing, and customers/end users.
  • Be responsible for cross-functional collaboration with peers in other engineering disciplines to meet project goals.
  • Be expected to meet overall project schedules and cost targets per marketing expectations.
  • Work with internal and external vendors to develop product specific designs per project plan.
  • Develop procedures to safely validate electrical designs and conduct design verification testing in a test/lab environment.
  • Establish technical criteria for electrical designs and compile technical reports and presentations.
  • Engage with customers/end users to meet project/product specific needs.
  • Participate in team meetings as directed by department leadership.
  • Participate in new product development design reviews.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in power electronic design and development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Broad knowledge of power electronics, including various topologies, power semiconductors, and analog/digital circuits
  • Proficient in the use of various measurement device including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power analyzers
  • Understanding of design evaluation techniques such as reliability analysis, statistical tolerance stack-up, Failure Mode and Effect analysis (FMEA), etc.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with power electronics development and testing

Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of engineering systems and processes
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented individual
  • Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team oriented, global, and diverse environment
