Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Sales Manager. This role is onsite at our Houston, TX facility. 50% travel is required for this position and a company car is provided.

Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including: conduit fittings and cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, industrial luminaires (including LED), plugs and receptacles, drilling and marine products, commercial construction, and solar solutions. The Houston, TX site is the home of a variety of family products all explosion-proof, with a focus on LED lighting fixtures and control panels. With 50 employees onsite, this plant is an excellent stepping stone into the organization, as it places a high value on talented professionals who are focused on problem solving and efficiency and looking to grow within the plant and Eaton as a whole.

This role will pursue and develop relationships and specifications with select end user accounts and EPC firms for HAC products with emphasis on CCTV, cameras but to include CEAG, IM, and MTL. Industry segments will focus on O&G, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Mining. Emphasis is placed on early specification activity for major projects, greenfield and brownfield, and tracking through engineering to procurement with successful award. The position entails responsibility for both technical and commercial customer/project issues required for full implementation of the business. The position is based in Houston, Texas with emphasis on the target customer base in that geographic area yet is not limited to Houston. Specification and project pursuit responsibilities will include all geographic areas within the US, Canada and Latin America. The position will require engagement with select sub-contractors, integrators or OEMs to facilitate project scope and package proposals to meet project requirements.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Sales Manager will work within the Eaton Crouse-Hinds business with numerous functional groups such as product line management, engineering, finance and compliance to meet customer business/project requirements. Most importantly, the Sales Manager will work in conjunction with MTL/HAC and Crouse-Hinds Sales Leaders to attain account access leading to spec positions leading to project business.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and secure product specification positions with target end uses (e.g., Exxon Mobil) and EPC (e.g., Bechtel) in alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Demonstrate specification activity for a defined list of customers, build-out an active project pipeline totaling $5M.
  • Discern and work with qualified integrators, sub-contractors and OEMs associated with project pursuits.
  • Focus on customer-facing sales execution: ID and develop a list of target accounts aligned with our served segments, formulate and execute sales specification and penetration activity.
  • Develop and apply selling processes (new account prospecting, needs analysis, handing objections, closing techniques) while selling.
  • Work-to-closure on major initiatives to be defined along with your direct manager.
  • Gather and obtain substantive customer feedback on products and applications to recommend new or modified products ensuring a competitive position is maintained within the market.
  • Utilizes negotiation skills to influence and resolve complex problems and influence all stakeholders to drive results.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical industry sales.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Houston, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Product experience in Process Control and/or CCTV and Fire and Gas systems for use in hazardous areas or harsh environments. Demonstrated selling skills involving needs analysis, value definition, handling objections and applying closing techniques.
  • Ability to develop a written sales plan.
  • Formal problem-solving skills
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
