Eaton's Mobility Group is seeking a Sales Director to serve as our main liaison with General Motors (GM). The preferred location for this position is Southfield, MI, but remote work could be considered. If based in Southfield, travel is expected to be around 25%, but if based elsewhere, travel could be 50% or more at times. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

This position reports to our Vice President, Sales - Light Vehicle and will manage daily sales/commercial activity as well as long-term growth/pursuit opportunities associated with the Mobility Group Automotive Products (traditional powertrain products as well as eMobility products). In this position, you will develop and maintain a comprehensive customer strategy for the assigned business unit(s) products, which achieves strategic alignment between Eaton and General Motors as well as some Tier 1 and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) OEM customers.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver performance in growth (revenue) and profitability, by selling value and providing exceptional customer satisfaction - utilizing Customer Relationship Review (CRR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Deliver performance by achieving pricing actions, that result activities associated with budgetary/contractual adjustments, and other targeted price changes within the OEM and Service business.
  • Deliver funnel growth by identifying new opportunities and advancing them through various sales stages.
  • Manage all commercial aspects for assigned product in NA, including program bidding and negotiation, commercial warranty claims, commercial impacts to program scope changes, and all other commercial and pricing activities associated with the account(s). Collaborate globally (as needed) with Eaton peers to solidify new opportunities, often leading the global quoting process.
  • Develop, in collaboration with the Product Strategy Manager, a comprehensive customer roadmap to define engine and platform opportunities, aligning Eaton's portfolio with customer needs & initiatives.
  • Align Sales Leadership to identify and communicate critical customer expectations.
  • Articulate clear understanding of current/future targets for relevant product market shares, competitive positioning, pricing strategies and standard profits which achieve Eaton's expectations. Benchmarks with other internal or external sales departments to assure best practices are utilized.
  • Relentlessly monitor market dynamics (global and regional) including customer and competitor developments and recommends strategies to counteract these pressures to management.
  • Utilize the Eaton Business System's Value Cycle process and tools to develop (in consensus with product managers) and deploy comprehensive value-based pricing strategies which are market driven, based on value provided, and the competitive landscape.
  • Supervise Account Managers and direct Sales Coordinator to drive the business objectives for the OEM products.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with business-to-business automotive commercial sales, with deep understanding of value-based selling and pricing.
  • Minimum three years of experience supervising teams.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive or commercial vehicle industry experience preferred.
  • Experience building and maintaining a high level of employee engagement.
  • Understanding of the Tier 1 and OEM purchasing organizations and negotiation tactics for multiple accounts.
  • Understanding of financial/analytical skillsets (cost estimating, pricing, ROS, NPV, IRR).

  • Demonstrated managerial courage and ability to influence outside of a direct reporting relationship and leverage resources.
  • Broad business acumen, ability to plan and manage execution of business plans.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $158249.97 - $232099.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
