Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Sales Application Engineer. This role is based out of our Broomfield, CO facility and up to 35% travel is expected. Relocation is provided within the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Product Application Engineer is responsible for acting as a technical and commercial resource to field sales, customers and distributors for quotations and project management at Eaton's Innovative Switchgear Solutions (ISG) business. ISG manufactures medium-voltage solid dielectric underground (Submersible, Vault, and Padmount) switchgear. As the Product Application Engineer, you will assist the field sales team to close orders based upon known or developing expertise and technical knowledge of the underground switchgear including utility, commercial, military, and industrial markets in the Americas, in this role you will be required to display and communicate technical knowledge of the equipment and negotiate pricing for a variety of projects. This role also works to develop strategies and plans to target customers in designated geography or industry with the objective of optimizing sales volume, product mix, and profit margin.

In this function you will:

  • Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support.
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits.
  • Review and interpret customer requirements on plans and specifications.
  • Provide proposed solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedure for resolution.
  • Have awareness of and responsiveness to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisions.
  • Attend promotional events and make presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton's products, while developing and achieving assigned goals.
  • Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgment.
  • Work with regionally based sales resources to develop a territory sales plan to obtain a greater share of market by obtaining orders for existing products and new products.
  • Plan sales activities with distributors, major accounts, and for major projects, in an assigned territory or on assigned accounts based on potential.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in engineering, sales/marketing, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience selling medium voltage underground distribution switchgear or associated products into the Utility Market
  • Two (2) years of experience in Utility/Commercial or Industrial sales engineering.
  • Five (5) years of related sales engineering experience
