What you'll do:

Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) is currently seeking a ReSurge Program: Senior CI Engineer that is expected to be on site 5 days a week in our Syracuse, New York facility.

Please note the Eaton ReSurge cohort will begin their 12-month assignment in March of 2025.

Position Overview:
This position focuses on the continuous improvement of operations to ensure the Syracuse plant meets the evolving needs of the business and its customers. The Senior CI Engineer will play a significant role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the site's processes. Through the analysis of performance data, identification of inefficiencies, and the implementation of strategic solutions, the Senior CI Engineer supports the CI Manager in achieving the site operational goals and strategy. This role involves collaboration with various departments to foster a culture of innovation and improvement, leading to increased productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will be defining and driving projects that improve productivity and quality for your area. You will facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimizing existing processes, and ensure that production goals are met. This position will help plan, design, develop, and implement major plant improvement projects to create and maintain efficient and safe use of plant facilities to affect the most economical manufacturing cost.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, facilitate, and execute projects using the Eaton Business System approach to Lean/Six Sigma principles and processes to deliver results.
• Investigate and solve problems in manufacturing of products; perform manufacturing method studies to determine optimum process and methods.
• Evaluate and recommend best solutions to given problems weighing economic return and compatibility with layout of plant facilities.
• Identify new equipment and manufacturing technologies to make recommendations regarding equipment, plant changes in manufacturing facilities, and material flow.
• Use lean and statistical tools, approaches, and techniques to create process management and measurement systems and develop a continuous improvement mindset.
• Develop operational procedures such as standard work.
• Implement cost reduction projects for methods, processes, and materials on current manufactured products.
• Align local quality efforts with plant and divisional leadership to drive an effective quality assurance and improvement strategy.
• Coordinate external facility contract services and ensure contractor compliance while also adhering to Federal, State, and Eaton EH&S standards.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years work experience
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering
  • 1+ year of a voluntary career break from your profession
  • Experience onboarding with 1 piece of capital equipment (CNC machine, new tool for manufacturing $10K plus range)
  • Experience within a unionized environment
  • Yellow or green belt six sigma certification

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this role is $90,000 a year.
