Quality Inspection Supervisor

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Quality Inspection Supervisor. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday at our Sumter SC Eaton location. Relocation assistance provided, if needed.

This role will lead the inspection team to ensure product that ships from Main Plant and Mission Critical meets the customer's requirements and/or exceed the customer's expectations. Monitor and report on metrics related to Production Quality performance. Manage inspection team including but not limited to overtime, vacation scheduling, and delegation of work between both plant and all inspection processes. This role requires flexibility to support teams on both 1st and 2nd shifts as needed.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

In this role:

  • Collect and input Quality Inspection Data into databases and other software as appropriate for reporting and data analysis including but not limited to SharePoint, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TDM, CQM, and MQ1.
  • Coordinate with operations in responding to unusual situations, changes, material shortages, and varying quality requirements.
  • Ensure quality inspectors are properly trained and conducting inspections according to current requirements and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department and other teams to maintain the application of Eaton Quality System standards to products and work processes.
  • Support Quality Engineers to drive actions that improve CONC, Warranty PPM, Final Yield, Internal DPPM and Supplier PPM.
  • Communicate with the department's employees on subjects relating to policy problem resolution, department objectives and quality issues.
  • Create and maintain an environment to achieve high level of employee morale. Promote positive and productive workplace environment that ensures a company represented workforce.
  • Manage payroll, attendance, performance reviews and other administrative needs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Warranty engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, aimed at enhancing the quality of processes, products, and systems.
  • Promote plant safety policies and encourage employees to follow sound safety practices; promote zero incident safety culture.
  • Establish and Improve inspection data collection plans as well as tools and processes.
  • Keep quality inspection documentation, work instructions, and checklists up to date.
  • Other duties, projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working in a Manufacturing or Operations Environment.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience managing people and/or project teams.
  • Must be able to relocate to Sumter South Carolina. Relocation assistance will be provided, if needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in industrial, electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in a Quality function
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification

Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office and Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to navigate and resolve disagreements or disputes.
  • Training and Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools
  • Proficiency in EQS and problem-solving tools
