Eaton's EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector at our location in Pearland, TX. This role will focus on performing mechanical, electrical, and visual inspections on various materials, products, and processes. The role will also support operations by identifying and analyzes quality issues while looking for opportunities for process improvement. The core hours are 7:00am-3:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $21.32 per hour.

What you'll do:

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and visual inspections on various materials, products, and processes and document inspection results.
  • Manage equipment calibration logs, complete internal calibrations per defined methods, and coordinate external calibration services.
  • Provide process information necessary to determine corrective and preventive action.
  • Manage Quality Notices and conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive action.
  • Perform containment activities of nonconforming material from different sources.
  • Perform scrap and material movement transactions within SAP system, and update data related to quality metrics.
  • Communicate with suppliers on Quality issues and Corrective and Preventive actions as needed.
  • Ensure that controlled documentation of most recent revision, is being used throughout all company entities
  • Assist in the development of inspection criteria and processes and provides suggestions for improving current inspection criteria and techniques
  • Provide updates and suggestions for improving the Quality system.
  • Perform internal audit as per schedule
  • Provide support during site inspections and internal and external audits with Federal, State, and other agencies (ISO, UL, CSA, ABS, etc.)

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • At least two (2) year of experience manufacturing environment
  • At least one (1) year of experience in quality inspection or quality assurance related roles.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Package
  • Experience using precision inspection tools (Caliper, GO-NO GO Gauges, Thread Gauges, Torque Cells)
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Pearland,TX will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Technical Certificate in Inspection or Quality training
  • Automotive background
  • Experience using SAP
  • Forklift Certification

Skills:

  • Strong learning agility
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, quality improvement techniques, controlled documentation systems
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude skills necessary
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others effectively and work in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, walking can be expected along with other means transfer of parts, and containers (8+ hours/day for long periods of time).
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull objects that are up to 40 pounds without assistance, occasionally 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Repetitive wrist, elbow and arm movement continuously throughout the work day.
  • Must be able to wear daily required PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes and hearing protection) as required by company policy and procedures.
  • Able to wear gloves required to handle material.
